This is a fun book to look at - lively, entertaining and informative. It provides the beginning of any understanding for how very different times can be, Aside from the festive nature of many "costumes" the class distinctions clothes provided is obvious and interesting. I used this as a quick reference in my study and writings of the middle ages. It is handy to have.
We are traveling to France (Loire Valley) with three elementary age daughters and this book is simply magical! Easy to read, broken into sections and full of fun information!
My second grade daughter loves this book. The pictures and text capture her interest. I like how the book describes life during the middle ages for girls of various classes and in several different countries. If you have a girl who enjoys learning about other places and times, I recommend this book.
