In my search for a Paleo/Mediterranean cookbook, after my doctor prescribed a Mediterranean diet using a Paleo template, I stumbled upon Molly Pearl's cookbook! I'm so very glad to have found this simple yet clearly written and concise cookbook with easy to follow recipes! While not every recipe contains a picture, the vast majority do...and what beautiful pictures they are! Every recipe we have tried thus far have been simply delicious and some of which I have now made numerous times!The recipes we have made so far:Olive Oil Fried Eggs over Arugula: (sounds simple...and it is! Also yummy and satisfying in the morning and a good way to get my son to eat his greens! ;))Fresh Watermelon Salad: Served this along side a fresh bed of greens and the salmon from pg 142Balsamic Cucumbers with Dill: again, simple and the perfect compliment to the Beef Kofta with Pine Nuts on pg 179 and sumac (which I found at Whole Foods)The Classic Greek Salad: My son begs for this salad at least once a week and it's so easy to throw together on a busy weekday, including the dressing that you can throw in a mason jar (as the author suggests), just shake and pour!Tuna Steak with Orange and Fennel Salad: I've made this one a few times now at the request of my family. It's an easy dish to throw together on a hot summer day, since it doesn't require a lot of standing over a hot stove (just sear the tuna for 1-3 minutes!)Fig and Arugula Salad: (a no brainer...but sometimes my brain needs to be reminded of these simple meals!)Sole with Fresh Tomato Salad: I've had numerous request to make this one over and over again.Shaved Asparagus Carbonara: A weeknight delight! The hardest part to this recipe was making the asparagus ribbons and even that wasn't that hard with a mandoline!Shrimp and Basil Linguine: Not to sound like a broken record...but again, simple yet delicious! I purchased pre-spiraled zucchini noodles which made it even easier to throw together on a busy weeknight!Whole Roast Chicken with Root Vegetables: sweet potatoes, celery root, rutabaga, and carrots fill you up in this perfectly roasted chicken with crispy skinMoroccan Chicken: The spices in this dish made my whole house smell wonderful!!!Roasted Peaches with Nuts (pistachios) and Honey: Perfect over some quality whole milk Greek yogurt (if you can tolerate dairy) or coconut milk ice creamFlatbread (grain free): The real deal!!!There are two meal plans. One for Spring/Summer and one for Fall/Winter. I love this idea of seasonal meal plans, utilizing fresh produce based on the seasons. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be to include the recipe page numbers in the menu plans. The meal plans provide a shopping list for all the ingredients you would need for the week. One thing to note: the meal plans are based on 2 adults. While most of the recipes sufficiently feed our family of three, you will want to consider doubling the recipes to accommodate a larger family...which would not be that difficult to do based on the simplicity of the ingredients.This is not an overly complicated or lavish cookbook, but that's why I like it! The information in the beginning of the book is straightforward and not overwhelming. And I've only scratched the surface of this book! You'll also find recipes for Paleo crepes with lemon curd, Coconut Yogurt, Fattoush, grain free Porridge, Tortilla Espagnole, Zucchini-Date Breakfast Bread, Paleo pastas (using various vegetables), Focaccia, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, salads, antipasto, soups, and even treats like, Dark Chocolate Paprika Cake and Strawberry-Mint Granita.I love the concept of merging the Mediterranean and Paleo diets together. I think both diets have a number of health benefits and as people discover how good they feel eating and living this merged lifestyle, I'm sure there will be more of a demand for books like this! I only know of one other Paleo Mediterranean cookbook. I own that one too, but did not have the success with the recipes from that popular cookbook as I have had with this cookbook! In my opinion this cookbook is the better purchase and if you are seeking Mediterranean recipes while staying committed to your Paleo lifestyle, then THIS is the cookbook for you!

This book is the answer to a lifelong search for the type of eating that avoids grains, beans, lentils, sugars, and allows for all types of food sensitivities, food allergies, and food aversions. The combo Mediterranean and Paleo is a winner for individual biochemical makeups that can properly metabolize the foods allowed. Love the season designated menus with accompanying grocery lists. It is a colorful book with easy to follow directions, good for those who don't like to cook much to the very great cooks.

Love this cookbook. Great for cancer diets that are low carb.

The strength of the author's analysis is in debunking virtually every theory that has been advanced to explain the airplane's disappearance. The weakness of it is in providing his own thesis. He does such a wonderful job destroying the theories of others that he is left with no possibility to advance himself other than one that is both commonplace and, honestly, downright lame. It is as easily destroyed using his own analytical tools as all the others. So what has he proved at the end of the day? Mostly that the plane's' disappearance is...a mystery.

I bought this book because the author is a pilot himself with an impressive resume. The book however was a disappointment. Firstly, the actual readable content is quite low. The text size is quite large and only takes up 75% of the page. Which leads me to my next annoyance, if the author was struggling to fill its pages - he left out many things that could've been expanded upon. No history of the 777 is mentioned. Often times he would explain how his A380 had larger wings or blah blah blah. We get it - you flew the A380. His conclusion is weak at best and when you finish the book - you're still left wondering what the best guess is. It's not a terrible book - but for the price, you're really not getting anything new. I'd wait until the price comes down considerably in the used section if you're still interested.

This is the most rational book I have read on the loss of MH370 and I have read a lot of them. I am a retired aerospace engineer and I agree with the logic that James Nixon brings to the book. The theory of the crash included in the book makes a lot of sense. It is simply and clearly written, easy to follow and understand. I particularly like the idea of mini cameras all over the aircraft - I would add some to the exterior of the aircraft,looking at engines, landing gear, and control surfaces.

If you accept the premise that the loss of MH370 was an accident, then the theory of an uncontained fire in the electronics bay beneath the cockpit makes the most sense to me.

Fascinating book. I loved his humor and and analytical mind. I hope the aviation industry considers some of his suggestions to improve things for the pilots and safety of everyone who gets on a plane.

Excellent book, easy for this layman to understand. I highly recommend this, especially for those of us who are nervous passengers.

I am a scientist by training and have never flown or been interested in flying a plane. What I enjoy about the authors writing is that it's logical and that he uses facts to support every one of his thoughts. After each chapter, he recaps the important parts of this section. Until the flight recorder is recovered from MH370, no one can be sure why the jet went down; nevertheless, I would bet that the authors analysis will be pretty close to correct. I agree with the author that most analysis of disasters that take place on network news is worthless and almost always wrong. I really enjoyed the authors writing style and will look into other books by this author.

A forthright no hysteria professional analysis of the flight of MH370 from an experienced senior airline captain leading to a set of conclusions which cannot be faulted or ignored. All this with a minimum of jargon or technical hyper-analysis. The argument for the continued search for MH370 is critical to all travelling public as are the suggested actions needed to avoid it happening again. This book is long enough to get all the facts and short enough to get the picture in one sitting.

I needed this book for my recertification class and it came with everything (book and mini booklet). You can now use it during the written test for your certification which is nice just in case you forgot a fact. It's crazy how the AHA just changes a couple things every edition and you have to buy a completely different set of supplies. When are we ever going to get it right where we just have a technique that works and doesn't have to be changed every couple years for book sales?

Great book by The American Heart Association. Everything very well explained and very clearly. It does take sometime to go through the contents and organize the info. It brings labels that you place in every session for easy finding as you review the materials.

I also signed up for acts-algorithms.com, which has interactive scenarios and many practice quizzes. The combination of this reference book and the online tests helped me get 100% on my written tests!

Purchased 2 as gifts. Both people loved the book! Amazing old images and information about New Orleans. Great coffee table item to have in your living room for interesting conversation. The young are intrigued and the old remember their memories.

Really great book...being from there I know many places in the photos,many I knew as the before picture.love my hometown!

this is a tremendous book, far better than the other by the same name. However,the seven previous reviews were all highly positive but when they were added no stars were indicated for five of the reviews. The result:two five star ratings and five no star ratings. It's not easy to find a gift for my husband, but when I saw this book, I knew my search was done. He's from New Orleans, but we haven't lived there for decades. This book brought back memories with its great collection of before-and-after photos. It also provided him with bits of information he'd not previously known. I recommend this book for anyone who is from New Orleans or just loves to visit it. Well done!

I live in the area and I really like the Then and Now aspect of the photos. I find myself examining each one to see how things have changed. Well worth it.

The author, raised in Britian has married a Greek government employee and they move back to Athens with their two children. The book relates her experiences in her first year living in Greece. She had lived in Greece as a student years before so she had some idea of what the experience would bring. The story is set mainly in Athens but she does have sections on Greek villages and especially the affinity that Greeks have for their native villages. Using members of her husbands family to illustrate her story she brings alive the blood-spattered history of Greece since WWII. Using her own experience trying to gain Greek citizenship she tells of the difficulties working with Greek government employees. The relationship of Greeks to their Orthodox Church is described by looking at the religious holidays that are celebrated each year. The deeply negative feelings that Greeks have to the US and the UK are explained (in typical ugly American fashion I had no idea of the Greek feelings and the US actions that caused them). This is a highly readable book and in my opinion a must read. The stories the author tells are indelible in my mind. I am only sorry that this story ends in the late 1990's so I didn't get the author's take on present day Greek troubles. In looking for books to read about Greece I have stumbled on an excellent author you should read -Greek travel or not. I am looking forward to her next book, the fictional The House on Paradise Street. (Note Eurydice Street was a little hard to come by, I had to order at Amazon from a UK publisher but it was reasonably priced and came within a week.)

I was unsure about this selection, but I had just read The Flight of Ikaros and wondered if Greece had changed a lot in 40 years. It seemed the author was familiar with this book.This book was entertaining and like Ikaros described Greek life and growing pains in a non-judgemental way. Eurydice Street is a beautifully written account of a British woman of Greek and Russian ancestry, who moves to Greece with her expatriate Greek husband and their two young daughters. As a trained anthropologist and a journalist, she reflects on her observations of present-day Greece. The family rents a maisonette on Eurydice Street in Vouliagmeni, a suburb of Athens. Written in first person, author Sofka Zinovieff transports her reader to Athens, vividly detailing the country's culture, her morals, religious holidays, ancient wars, Greek war of independence from the Ottoman Empire, World War 11, the communist civil war, among other topics, perhaps more than a reader cares to read. However, it's a serendipitous way of learning the history and culture of a country that has been ravaged by wars and foreign invaders. Eurydice Street is more than a one woman's travelogue but a search into a country's psyche. This book is informational, at times amusing, and insightful; not a boring book, as one reviewer claimed. He was in the wrong genre. In my search for books that would give me a sense of what it's like to live in contemporary Greece, I found Eurydice Street, a book by an anthropologist who is married to a former expatriate Greek. The author and her husband decided in 2001 to move to Greece to live, and raise their two young daughters as Greeks. They find a house in Athens on Eurydice Street, and begin their first year living in Athens as Greek citizens. This book is the story of that year. I have read several books about modern Greece, but Eurydice Street is one of only two (the other being Dinner with Persephone) that I consider outstanding. By "outstanding", I mean that not only is the book well written, but it goes beneath the surface to convey not just customs, practices and descriptions of landscape, but the psychological and feeling aspects of life in the Greek culture. I came away feeling that I understand something about the way Greek people experience life.Ms. Zinovieff writes extremely well, and she brings her anthropologist's eye for cultural norms and folkways to her account. The book takes us through the year, starting in the dead heat of August, and each chapter focuses on a particular aspect of Greek culture -- the festival of Panaigia, Oxi Day, November 17, the Greek way of celebrating Christmas, which is to celebrate the New Year instead, and of course, Easter. Even though the chapters each focus on a particular event in Greek life, they flow naturally because the author experiences these events as part of her family's daily life.By the time you've finished the book, you feel that if you went to Greece to live for a period of time, you would be going to a familiar place that you understand. This is a wonderful book, and I recommend it highly.

I'm about halfway thru this book. It's about what I expected - a slice of life in a country I have developed a considerable interest in. I'd recommend the book to anyone who has an interest in Greece (bear in mind, that it does NOT take place in the current period of financial crisis). While I've heard people complain about these authors not being Greek and not really understanding everything, that's not the point. Most of us are outsiders to this or any other land but our own but our opinions of places we've been can be very valid within that context. I'm glad I bought this book.

I read the reviews claiming this is a very basic book on gardening, and yes,,,,yes it isThere are only SO many really intricate gardening plans that once could execute before it gives you and the nursery you work with a major headacheI HAVE grown perennials for 25 yrs, I HAVE gone complicated and gotten frustrated and tossed out plants , ( and normally those that came with a price tag that was on the high side)One thing I learned in all my years of gardening on 3 country acres,,,,,is KEEP IT SIMPLE( fill in the blank here)I have 4 heavy shade gardens that no longer have a single flower in them because 10 yrs ago I decided I liked the looks of the foliage better than the flowers and I think I did that before it became vogue to do just that. It was practical and it pleased my senses.These gardens are simple, they work,,,,,,they are filled w/ many hostas, climbing hydrengas, ferns and other shade loving annuals ( coleus, and yearly bulbs) so they work for me , All survived a huge drought we had last summer, and are looking pretty darn good w, the heavy snow and spring rains this yearI have succulent gardens in my birdbath and outside sitting in flat pots on the deck, and have mixed lots of herbs in my perennial border ( just bc its easy to snip for dinner!) and gosh,,it smells SO good when passing it! I garden for all sensese not just to look, but to smell good too!This year I dug up the entire front garden, had the wall re done and am doing almost ALL annuals fora full summer riot of color and its FUN!I added cannas, orange trumpet ,dahlias and a few other things bc this is really hot hot sun ( my home faces south west)Its fantastic the sea of color I created in a 5 ft wide by 25 ft long areaI like this book bc it shows anyone how easy it is to figure out things for a successful garden ( gardens in my case)Who says simple is cannot be stunning?? Add the angel trumpets and the elephant ears and the garden speaks volumes to me,So I want to say that this indeed is a simplistic way of looking at doing a garden the proportions are good, the ideas are very good, the plans alone are worth the price of the bookI just wish I had a book like this 25 yrs ago so I could have saved myself so many many expensive mistakes,,,,,,,but then again, a garden does teach you patienceLove the book would give this to any new homeowner or anyone attempting to design a wonderful garden for the first,,,,or the fifth time~

The Nonstop Garden is packed with all sorts of ideas and the pictures are lovely. Somehow the flowers and plants discussed in this book are exactly the ones I've been considering and wondering where and how to use them in my garden.The authors advise that we "Garden Smarter, Not Harder", which works for me. I'm tired. I'm looking for practical ways to make my garden beautiful without making more work for myself. I was particularly interested in the many advantages of planting a variety of plants: perennials, annuals, herbs, tropicals, trees, and shrubs, all together rather than grouped by kind. They say that variety is better for purposes of diversity, creativity, less maintenance, and year-round interest. Then there's the advantage of developing a habitat for wildlife.I know that I am enjoying a book when I grab my highlighter. This book is simple enough to be easy to understand and complete enough to teach me things I didn't even know I needed to know. I'm glad I bought it. Now I want to get back to it and dig out more ideas.

This book will be of no help to anyone but the beginner gardener, in my mind. I was really looking forward to detailed and specific advice about how to plan a garden that provides year-round interest but this piece of fluff doesn't even come close to being helpful. Their advice can be summed up in two words: variety and diversity. Plant a variety (trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, bulbs, etc.) of different types and then put 3/5/7 of them in clumps according to height. What a joke - if you have done any gardening, you know that already. And by the way, you can find better garden plans online at BHG's site for free. The rest of the book (75%) contains plant suggestions and sometimes offers companion plant suggestions - nice, but not what you are led to believe you are getting. I live very remotely and have to order books online and it is moments like this that I wish I could have just flipped through it in the store. I am beyond irritated that I wasted money on this book.

Wish I had this when we first moved into our house. We are in the process of re-creating our entire yard (+1 acre). It is easy to read and I love it that the author will indicate zone when describing each plant in her design. It is easy to follow her instructions and love the photos of the plants as well as the landscape design template. There is also a chart in the back showing peak performance of several trees, shrubs, etc. broken down by season. It also shows the zone. When describing each plant/shrub/trees, she will indicate which ones are invasive and their non invasive replacements.

Despite the very respectable backgrounds of the authors, THE NONSTOP GARDENER was even less than basic because it was so information-poor. There are many illustrations, but the illustrations are not that helpful. To me, it seems that the authors hastily threw together a book just to make a fast buck.

Excellent! Easy reading and a great guide to create or correct a garden. I love every idea, suggestion and insight in it.

Love this book. Pictures are beautiful and plant selections are great. Sections are organized by plant type (trees, shrubs, perennials, etc.) so the sections also tend to go by height, which makes it easy designing a bed from back to front. I've since loaned this book to 2 friends who were just starting out or who needed to redo a bed.

Wonderful book it is part of a 20 book collection I Resenty purchased for my wife. Thank you.😊
