If the first thing that comes to your mind when you see the words "The National Parks" is the Channel Islands or White Sands, New Mexico, then this is the book for you. The author filled an inordinate number of pages with pix of those two locations. I was hoping that this book would provide at least one photo of each of the 59 National Parks, but half of them were totally snubbed. I thought the pictures chosen for some parks were unusual choices - for instance, none of the pictures of Joshua Tree National Park showed a Joshua tree even in the background. It included a lot of pictures of the more famous parks like Glacier and Yellowstone, which already get plenty of play in other publications. I would have liked to have seen some representative shots of the lesser-known, lesser-visited parks in order to see what beauties they offered to encourage us to visit them. I realize that the National Park Service oversees not only the Parks but also many monuments, historic sites, etc. But when a book is entitled "The National Parks" rather than "National Park Service Lands" I expect it to feature the 59 Parks.

I think that the book is excellent!! The pictures of each of the National Parks are amazing!!I have enjoyed reading the text about each of the parks.I have been fortunate to visit several of our National Parks, and the pictures brought back memories of the places that I have visited.I would highly recommend this book to others!!

My daughter wanted this book for Xmas. She wanted to look at the pictures and plan visits to the parks some day.

What beautiful photographs. I love this book. The quality of the printing is also wonderful. We have enjoyed the National Parks for many decades and are already looking forward to visiting the few we have missed.

I loved all the photos that were included in the book. They were all beautiful. But with so many pictures of the same parks like Channel Island, Denali, Mount Rainier, Yellowstone, Yosemite I was disappointed there was only one of the Grand Canyon and none of many others.

I've read other presentations of Chinese medicine, and my eyes tend to glaze over after awhile. The presentation is absolutely brilliant, entertaining and extremely accurate. I feel this is a perfectly Daoist expression of Daoist wisdom. . . .Zhuangzi would approve with a chuckle.

I bought this for my grandson who is in University...He is studying Film and this book was part of his year end project....He got an A onpresentation so I guess the book was all that it should have been....

I loved this play in college. Amazing how tastes change though. I didn't really remember all the foul language. Still, an excellent play, just not for use in my classroom as a high school teacher.

One of the best male roles around. However, I'm a female, and it wasn't quite as standout for me. A true acting student standard and beautifully raw.

A play about people living in New York City in the 1980s below Soho in a loft, but it could be Brooklyn in the 2000s too or anywhere an earthy dancer, ego-filled screenwriter and wise-cracking advertising man and pure id of a restaurant managing guy tangle up their hurts and visions. And where I thought John Malcovich as wild real Pale blew the audience away in 80s NYC, in the version I just saw in 2011 LA, the female among these smart talkers stood strong center of the cyclone of her life and blewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww baby blewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I think this play is timeless. The passion and humor is riveting and role of Pale is a dream role for any daring actor.

Langford Wilson's drama, "Burn This," is set in New York City in the eighties. The play was performed with Steppenwolf actors John Malkovich and Joan Allen as Jimmy Pale and Anna. The play debuted at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles, California en route to Broadway in New York City.This drama is two acts with four characters including a female and three males. Burton and Larry are two gay men and as Anna's roommates.the drama unfolds after the tragic deaths of Robbie and Dominic, a gay couple.Anna recalls how Robbie's family were clueless about his life as a dancer and choreographer in New York City's dance community. Anna was his friend and roommate only. Pale is Robbie's older brother.Anna and Pale have a beautiful love story underneath the tragedy and loss. This drama is about homosexuality and families in dealing with death back in the eighties.

You are sure to relate with each character as they experience camp from their own point of view where the youngest campers have to find courage to overcome the fear of being away from home for the first time, while the older, more experienced children, have to deal with Jeffrey, the jokester who never gets tired of playing tricks on other children. You will not want to miss the unfolding of how Rosco and his friend save the day.I read this book with my 6 year old daughter and she was excited with the games and the story telling around the fire pit, afraid of the “danger” lurking outside the girl’s cabin, and many times feeling that Jeffrey was not the nicest kid in camp. I would highly recommend this one to anybody looking for an easy reading, fun adventure story with plenty of action and suspense. James, Mandy, and of course the lovable Rosco, return in this fun story for a fun filled week at summer camp! Intelligent Rosco comes to the rescue again and saves the day! A fun story for all ages.

My nine year old loved this book, as he has with all of Shana's books!! He thought James was a great character with confidence and courage. He liked how stood up against others who were doing wrong. My son loves to run and he loved how fast Rosco was when playing capture the flag!! We received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
